To Fly or To Drive

These last few weeks have been a whirl wind of craziness for me. I had to make my way back to my home state of Vermont for a few family matters that I was not expecting. Due to the unexpected quick trip I needed to take back home I had to endure the lovely task of flying. Flying can be very handy, last weeks situation is a perfect example. However, given the option for mode of transportation I would much prefer to get in my little car and drive myself.

I know some of you are saying that's crazy talk! Here me out though and if you are a non believer maybe I will make a convert of you. I have always traveled by car for vacations, school trips, and moving. I have flown a few times overseas and of course to make it home for the holidays when I lived in Montana. These flying trips always suck the life right out of me and I am left feeling like I have missed an entire day of something.

Route 66
Growing up as a kid we took all of our summer vacation trips, whether it was to Cape Cod or Maine by way of car. Three kids and all of our camping necessities crammed in the back of a Subaru. Although there was complaining and a little shoving because someone was in your space we always had a great week. I think this is where my love of driving rather than flying comes from. Over the years I have drive to all of the various places that I have lived and each time I got to stop at some amazing places along the way.

Niagara Falls
The Bad Lands
Yellowstone National Park
Glacier National Park
Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace

Hoover Dam

To name a few.
Hoover Dam
The latest road trip for our move to Arizona really allowed for some great memories and pictures! This trip really cemented my love of driving rather than flying. If you have the opportunity to get in a car and drive to your destination do it! And! Plan some amazing stops along the way to really make it a trip to remember.

Happy Road Tripping
Jenn
